This Memorial Day, the North Uxbridge Fire Museum proudly rolled down the streets of Uxbridge with a moving tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who have served. Joined by members of the Uxbridge Antique Fire Association, the museum took part in the annual parade by showcasing two fully restored 1940s fire engines – a gleaming symbol of local pride, tradition, and craftsmanship.

Towed behind it was an antique, hand-drawn fire apparatus: a rare piece of firefighting history believed to be one of the early manually pumped extinguishers used before the motorized era. Decorated with American flags and restored to parade-ready condition, the display was a crowd favorite and a powerful reminder of how far emergency service has come – and how deeply rooted it is in our community.

As a nonprofit organization, the North Uxbridge Fire Museum is committed to preserving the past while honoring those who serve in the present – from our nation’s troops to our hometown firefighters. Events like the Memorial Day Parade give us a chance to reflect, connect, and proudly share pieces of our town’s legacy with neighbors, veterans, and future generations.
We thank all who came out to support, wave, and remember. And we salute every individual – in uniform or in spirit – who continues to serve their community with dedication and courage.
